ASPECT AND DESCRIPCION
It is a perennial and biannual plant original from Asia, and has a bulb composed for 8 to 20 elements (teeth). The inflorescence is an ended umbels of white pink or green flowers.

HISTORY

Garlic has been found in the grave of Tut King 1358 years before C. According with the Greek historian Herodotus the slaves ate garlic while they built the Keops pyramid. The herborist of west India Mr. Charaka said that during the 1st. Century garlic cost its weight in gold. This herb has been historically used as protector of illness and bad spirits. Ulysses fought with garlic against the magic powers of Circe. In 1800 it was used by the French monks to protect themselves from the high contagion of fever in the poor area of London.

 

CULINARY USE
It is one of the most popular flavours of the world, and it is incorporated in butter, vinegar, salt, dry condiments, soups, sauces and in the main cooking. Chinese prepare a honey of garlic.
